This Privacy Policy explains how ToolsPoint Online (“ToolsPoint”, “we”, “us” or “our”) handles information when you visit toolspointonline.com (the “Website”) and use our online tools. We respect your privacy and aim to collect as little personal information as possible.
1. Summary
- You can use our tools without creating an account.
- Most tools process your files and text locally in your browser; that content is not uploaded to our servers.
- We do not sell your personal information.
- Advertising and analytics partners may use cookies, subject to your consent where required by law.
2. Files and text you use with our tools
Most ToolsPoint tools — including PDF, image, text, developer and calculator tools — run with JavaScript or WebAssembly inside your browser. Files you select and text you enter are processed on your device and are not transmitted to or stored on our servers by those tools. When you close or reload the page, that data is discarded by your browser.
Some features necessarily contact third-party services:
- YouTube Thumbnail Downloader loads public thumbnail images from YouTube's image servers (img.youtube.com) for the video ID you enter.
- Text-to-Speech MP3 download (optional) sends the text you choose to convert, plus voice, speed and pitch settings, to an external text-to-speech service to generate the audio file. Normal playback in the same tool uses your browser's built-in voices and stays on your device.
- Speech-to-Text may use your browser's built-in speech recognition, which in some browsers (such as Google Chrome) sends audio to the browser vendor's servers for recognition, under that vendor's privacy policy. Transcribing an uploaded audio file downloads an open-source speech model to your browser and runs it locally.
- Software libraries (for example PDF, ZIP and OCR libraries) are loaded from public content delivery networks such as cdnjs, jsDelivr and unpkg. These providers receive your IP address and browser information as part of delivering the files, but not your files.
- Page translation: if you choose a language other than English, the page text is translated by Google Translate, and the page content and your IP address are sent to Google for that purpose.
Please do not enter passwords, payment card numbers, government ID numbers or other highly sensitive information into any online tool.
3. Information we collect
3.1 Information you provide
If you email us, we receive your email address, name (if provided) and the content of your message. We use this only to reply to you, provide support and improve the Website.
3.2 Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically records standard server log data such as IP address, browser type, device type, referring page, pages requested and date and time of access. This information is used for security, troubleshooting and aggregate traffic analysis and is retained only for a limited period.
3.3 Local storage on your device
We store a few small preferences in your browser's local storage, such as your theme (light/dark), language choice and cookie consent choice. These never leave your device unless required for the feature (for example the language cookie used by the translator). See our Cookie Policy.
4. Advertising (Google AdSense)
We use or may use Google AdSense and other advertising partners to display ads. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to our site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings.
- You can opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info or www.youronlinechoices.eu.
- Learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Where required (for example in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland), personalised ads are shown only after you give consent through a consent management platform.
5. Analytics
We may use privacy-respecting analytics (such as Google Analytics) to understand how visitors use the Website — for example which tools are popular — so we can improve it. Analytics data is aggregated and is not used to identify you personally. You can block analytics with browser settings or extensions, or with Google's opt-out add-on.
6. How we use information
- To provide, operate, secure and maintain the Website and tools.
- To respond to messages and support requests.
- To understand usage and improve our tools.
- To display advertising that keeps the Website free.
- To comply with legal obligations and prevent abuse.
7. Legal bases (EEA/UK users)
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we process personal data on the basis of our legitimate interests (operating and securing the Website), your consent (advertising and analytics cookies where required), and, where relevant, compliance with legal obligations.
8. Sharing of information
We do not sell or rent personal information. We share information only with service providers who help us operate the Website (such as hosting, content delivery, advertising and analytics providers), when required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of our users and the Website.
9. International users
ToolsPoint Online is available worldwide. Our service providers may process data in countries other than your own. Where required, appropriate safeguards are used for international transfers.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, UK GDPR, California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), Brazil's LGPD or India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal data, to object to processing, to withdraw consent, and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for targeted advertising. To exercise these rights, email us at support@toolspointonline.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
11. Data retention
Files processed in your browser are not retained by us. Emails are kept only as long as needed to handle your request and for reasonable record-keeping. Server logs are kept for a limited period for security purposes.
12. Children's privacy
The Website is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
13. Security
We use HTTPS encryption and reasonable technical measures to protect the Website. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is completely secure.
14. Third-party links
The Website may link to third-party websites. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices, so please review their policies.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top shows when it was last changed. Significant changes will be highlighted on this page.
