Free EMI Calculator Online
This free EMI calculator online helps you estimate a monthly loan payment from three basic inputs: loan amount, annual interest rate, and loan tenure. Enter the figures to see the estimated monthly EMI, principal amount, total interest, total repayment, and a yearly amortization breakdown.
EMI Calculator for Monthly Loan Payments
An EMI is a scheduled payment made toward a loan. This calculator is useful when you want to estimate a monthly loan payment, compare different loan amounts or interest rates, or understand how the total cost of a loan changes as the repayment period changes. It can be used for general loan-planning examples such as personal, car, home, education, or other installment loans, subject to the terms of the actual lender.
How the EMI Formula Works
For a loan with a positive interest rate, the calculator uses the standard reducing-balance EMI formula:
EMI = P × r × (1 + r)n ÷ ((1 + r)n − 1)
- P = loan principal
- r = monthly interest rate, calculated from the annual percentage rate
- n = total number of monthly payments
When the interest rate is 0%, the monthly payment is calculated as the principal divided by the number of monthly payments. Results are rounded to two decimal places for display.
Example: Calculate EMI
For example, with a loan amount of ₹5,00,000, an annual interest rate of 8.5%, and a 5-year tenure, the calculator produces an estimated monthly EMI of ₹10,258.27. The estimated total interest is ₹1,15,495.94, making the estimated total repayment ₹6,15,495.94.
Loan Payment Calculator for Different Countries
The calculation is based on the loan amount, annual interest rate, and repayment period rather than a particular country. If you are in the United States, you may also search for terms such as loan payment calculator or monthly payment calculator. In the United Kingdom, people may also look for a loan repayment calculator or monthly loan payment estimate. The same basic calculation can be used for general estimates, while actual lender payments may differ because of fees, insurance, taxes, compounding conventions, or other loan terms.
Understanding Your EMI Result
The monthly EMI is the estimated recurring payment. Total interest shows the estimated interest paid over the full repayment period, while total payment combines principal and interest. The yearly amortization table shows how the estimated payment is divided between principal and interest and how the remaining balance changes over time.

Important Information About Loan Estimates
This calculator provides an estimate for planning and comparison. It is not a loan offer, financial approval, or a guarantee of the amount a lender will charge. Actual payments can differ because lenders may apply fees, taxes, insurance, different interest conventions, or other contractual terms. Always check the lender's official repayment schedule before making a financial decision.
