Image Metadata Viewer Online
This free image metadata viewer helps you inspect technical information stored in supported image files. Use it as an EXIF viewer to check camera make and model, capture date and time, orientation, lens and exposure settings, resolution, DPI, color information and GPS coordinates when those fields are actually present.
Whether you need to view EXIF data online, check photo properties before publishing an image, troubleshoot a JPEG, inspect PNG or WebP metadata, or understand what information a photo contains, the results are grouped into clear sections. Metadata is read in your browser rather than requiring a separate desktop application.
What Metadata Can You View?
Depending on the image format and the information embedded by the camera or editing software, the viewer can show EXIF fields such as Make, Model, DateTime, Orientation, Exposure Time, F-Number, ISO, Focal Length, Flash, White Balance, Metering Mode, Software, Copyright, X/Y Resolution, GPS coordinates and other available metadata. Not every image contains every field.
How to Use the Image Metadata Viewer
- Select an image or drag and drop it into the upload area.
- Wait for the local metadata scan to finish.
- Review basic file properties and the available EXIF, GPS, camera, resolution and color information.
- Use “Inspect Another Image” to check another file.
JPG, PNG and WebP Metadata
JPEG photographs commonly contain EXIF camera information. PNG and WebP files can contain other metadata depending on how the file was created or exported. The viewer only reports metadata that the parser can actually read from the selected file; it does not invent missing camera or GPS information.
Privacy and Image Metadata
Image metadata can sometimes contain location, camera and creation details. Review metadata before sharing photos publicly if privacy matters to you. This browser-based tool is designed for local inspection, so the selected file is not intentionally sent to a remote conversion service by the page.
