GST Calculator Online for Adding or Removing GST
This free GST calculator online helps you work out GST on a taxable amount, find the total price after GST, or remove GST from a tax-inclusive amount. Choose GST Exclusive when you have a price before tax, or GST Inclusive when the amount already includes GST.
The calculator can show the GST split as CGST and SGST for an intra-state calculation or IGST for an inter-state calculation. Enter the amount and applicable GST rate, then review the calculation breakdown before using it in an invoice, quotation, or personal estimate.
How the GST Calculator Works
For a GST-exclusive calculation, GST is the taxable amount multiplied by the GST rate and divided by 100. The GST-inclusive total is the taxable amount plus GST. For example, ₹1,000 at 18% GST gives ₹180 GST and a total of ₹1,180.
For a GST-inclusive or reverse GST calculation, the taxable amount is found by dividing the gross amount by 1 + GST rate ÷ 100. The GST component is the difference between the gross amount and the taxable amount. This is useful when a listed price already includes tax.
GST Inclusive vs GST Exclusive
GST Exclusive: use this when the quoted or taxable price is before GST. The calculator adds GST and displays the final amount.
GST Inclusive: use this when the amount already includes GST. The calculator separates the taxable amount from the GST component while keeping the original gross total.
CGST, SGST and IGST Calculation
For an intra-state transaction, the GST amount can be divided into CGST and SGST when the applicable tax treatment calls for that split. For an inter-state transaction, the GST component is shown as IGST. The correct tax treatment depends on the transaction and applicable tax rules.

For visitors comparing tax tools in different markets, GST is commonly associated with countries such as India, while the United States generally uses sales tax systems and the United Kingdom uses VAT. This page focuses on GST calculations rather than US sales tax or UK VAT calculations.
Important GST Calculation Note
GST rates and tax treatment can depend on the goods or services, transaction type, location, exemptions, and applicable rules. The quick-rate buttons on this page are convenient calculation presets and should not be treated as a statement that every rate applies to every product or service. Always confirm the applicable rate before preparing a tax invoice or filing a return.
