Why Tax Results Can Differ

Income tax is not simply one percentage of salary. Taxable income can be affected by allowances, deductions, credits, filing status, residency, age, capital gains, dividends, state or provincial taxes, social contributions, surcharge rules and special tax rates. This calculator intentionally shows its assumptions so users can understand what is and is not included.
